Mongolian Students Shine in Cambridge International Exams

The global reach of education was in the spotlight in December 2024 as Mongolian students received accolades for their outstanding performance in the Cambridge International Examinations.

The prestigious Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards were presented on December 10th, 2024, at Orchlon International School, acknowledging the exceptional results achieved by students in the June 2024 examination series. This event highlights the rising influence of the Cambridge education system in Mongolia, which has seen significant growth since the first Cambridge International School registered in 2008.

The most impressive achievements came in the form of "Top in the World" awards. Three talented Mongolian students from three separate schools received these highest-level Cambridge exam awards, placing them at the very top globally in a single subject. This global recognition signifies the hard work and dedication of both the students and their educators.

In addition to these exceptional results, other notable achievements were celebrated:

  • "Best Across" Awards: Three students earned these accolades for their superior cumulative performance across a set of subjects.

  • "Top in Mongolia" Awards: A further 32 students were recognized for achieving the highest mark in the country for a single subject.

  • "High Achievement" Awards: 19 students received recognition for outstanding results in subjects that are not as widely taken, demonstrating a strong breadth of academic talent.

His Majesty’s Ambassador to Mongolia, Ms. Fiona Blyth, delivered her congratulations and presented the awards. Dr. Jing Zhao, Regional Director for East Asia, and other representatives from Cambridge International Education were also in attendance. Dr. Zhao remarked on the growing popularity and high standards demonstrated by Mongolian schools using the Cambridge system.

Mongolian Student Shur Nyamkhuu from Orchlon International School, who received a High Achievement for Cambridge International AS Level Global Perspectives & Research, shared her inspiring message: “Keep learning, keep adapting. Your path will unfold in ways you can’t yet imagine, but every step—whether forward or sideways—brings you closer to where you’re meant to be.”

These awards not only reflect the hard work of the students but also underscore the commitment of educators and the growing integration of international education standards in Mongolia. As the Cambridge system gains popularity, we can expect to see more impressive achievements from Mongolian students on the world stage.
